About therapy, with Aaron

Smiling bearded man with glasses wearing a black zip-up sweater outdoors in autumn.

Hi!     I'm Aaron, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25+ years of experience working with families, couples, teens and adults. I treat a spectrum of mental health issues including Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, MDD, psychosis, neurodivergence, and addiction. Beyond symptom treatment, many clients of mine work on self-regulation and efficacy, intimacy, and professional development.

My model is based on the approach that emotions can be manageable and support us, rather than overwhelming.  I have drawn from things like Somatic Experience, CBT, IFS, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Humanistic therapy, and existential and spiritual disciplines to develop a simple system I call The IKVaS™ Method.

The IKVaS™ Method is where we name emotions, see their underlying currents, and process and release them in ways that resonate with our own voice.

Through my training and wisdom from diverse life experience, you'll find humor and warmth in a safe place to experience the process.

Clients just trying to stay above water often find the sessions immediately empowering their optimism and that they're looking forward to next week.
